Visiting Information

​Visitation Information

To schedule an appointment to visit, please email KSP.Visits@ky.gov.

All visits must be requested via email by the inmate visitor. The visitor will need to schedule any visit at least seven days in advance. In-person visiting requests must include the visitor's name, date of birth, and social security number. The request must also include the date they wish to visit and if the visit will be in-person or virtual. The visitation time will be assigned based on availability and approval. 

Visitation Schedule:
In-person and Virtual visits will be conducted at KSP based on the following schedule:

In-Person

5CH-first Tuesday and Wednesday of month     In-person 9am-10:00am   

4CH-second Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 9:00am-10:00am 

3CH-second Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 9:00am-10:00am

6CH GP-third Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 9am-10am   

SSU-fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of month    In-person 9:00am-10:00am

PC Group 1 -fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 10:30am-11:30am

PC Group 2 -fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 12:00pm-1:00pm

OSQ- fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of month   In-person 1:30pm-2:30pm

 

All in-person requests shall be made via email to KSP.Visits@ky.gov and shall be made at least seven (7) days in advance. All video visits are scheduled through Securus.

Outside Quarters – Sun, Mon, Tues  1:00pm-2:30pm

PC Group 1- Sun, Tues  8:00am – 8:40am

PC Group 2- Sun, Tues  8:50 – 9:30am

Death Row-Sun, Tues  10:30am-11:30am

General Population – Sun, Tues, 10:00am-2:00pm

TU – Mon  2:00pm-3:00pm

Merit Schedule- Tues – 3:15pm-5:00pm


Visitor Dress Code Policy

To maintain the safety, security, and orderly operation of this facility, all visitors must comply with the following dress code. Visitors who fail to comply will be denied entry.

1. General Standards

  • Visitors must wear modest clothing appropriate for a correctional environment.
  • Appropriate undergarments must be worn at all times and must not be visible.
  • Shirts must fully cover the shoulders, cleavage, and midriff.
  • Footwear must be worn at all times. Bare feet are not permitted.

2. Prohibited Attire

  • Provocative, revealing, see-through, or excessively tight-fitting clothing.
  • Shorts, dresses, or skirts that are more than 2 inches above the knee when standing.
  • Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, or any sleeveless shirts.
  • Spandex, leggings, or yoga pants when worn as the outermost garment. These items are permitted only when worn underneath a skirt, dress, or pants that meet length requirements.
  • Clothing displaying obscene language, images, or symbols; gang-related insignia; or content that is offensive, derogatory, or disruptive.
  • Head coverings of any type, including hats, caps, bandanas, scarves, or hoods. (Religious head coverings are permitted but are subject to search.)

3. Enforcement

  • Facility staff have the sole discretion to determine whether clothing complies with this policy.
  • Visitors arriving in violation of the dress code will be given the opportunity to correct the issue if possible (e.g., changing clothes, covering up). If the issue cannot be corrected, the visitor will be denied entry.​
