Southeast State Correctional Complex is committed to the safety of the citizens of the commonwealth, staff, and offenders by providing opportunities in education, programming, social interaction, and job experiences that better prepare offenders to re-enter society and reduce recidivism.
About SSCC
Southeast State Correctional Complex is a state operated medium-security prison located in Floyd County. The state of Kentucky has entered a lease with the current property owner to operate the facility as the 13th state prison in the Commonwealth. The 621-bed prison will offer evidence-based programming including a substance abuse program, MRT, and educational courses. Vocational courses will also be offered, including carpentry and horticulture programs.
SSCC is located in Wheelwright and covers 111 acres. The nine buildings include dormitories, and administration building, education building, visitation building, and gymnasium.
