Assistant Warden James Briggs

Briggs was promoted to the position of assistant warden at Lee Adjustment Center in March 2020 after serving as the facility's chief of unit management since 2018. Briggs began his career in 2006 as a correctional officer at CoreCivic's Diamondback Correctional Facility in Oklahoma. He later promoted to lieutenant and the captain at the Davis Correctional Facility.

Beginning in 2012, Briggs served as captain at several additional facilities including Jenkins Correctional Center in Millen, Georgia; North Fork Correctional Facility in Sayre, Oklahoma; and Trousdale-Turner Correctional Center in Hartsville, Tennessee. In 2016, he promoted to assistant chief of security at the Trousdale-Turner facility. He later served in the same role at CoreCivic's Tallahatchie County Correctional Center in Tutwiler, Mississippi before transferring to the bluegrass state.
