
Rules and Restrictions
- No more than three (3) visitors shall visit an inmate during a contact visit. If a child can walk, they are counted as one of the three.
- No more than two (2) visitors shall visit an inmate during a controlled visit.
- Visits must be scheduled one week in advance. If the inmate is placed in RHU or a different housing unit are due to visitation restrictions it is the inmate's responsibility to advise the visitor.
- Physical contact within the bounds of good taste shall be permitted at the beginning and end of each visit. (One brief kiss and hug)
- Sexual stimulation or activity shall be strictly prohibited.
- Children must be always kept under the parents' control.
- An infant (0-1 year) may be held by the inmate. All other children must be seated or held by the visiting parent or guardian.
- All trash must be placed in the appropriate containers at the end of the visit.
- Each visitor, if needed, must make restroom visits prior to going through the body scanner and entering the visitation area. Once the visitor is in the visitation area and wants a restroom visit the visit for that individual will be concluded at that time. If a visitor has a medical issue that would interfere with this mandatory procedure, they must present medical documentation prior to their scheduled visit.
Arrival Time
- Visitors scheduled for visitation 9:00am to 11:00am must arrive on grounds no earlier than 8:00am and no later that 8:45am
- Visitors scheduled for visitation 1:00pm to 3:00pm must arrive on grounds no earlier than noon and no later than 12:45pm
- If there is an emergency that would delay the visitor (must be verified) an exception may be made by the Supervisor in Visitation. The visitor must call and relay what the situation is and why they would be late. A decision will be made at the time
Visitor Dress Code Policy
To maintain the safety, security, and orderly operation of this facility, all visitors must comply with the following dress code. Visitors who fail to comply will be denied entry.
1. General Standards
- Visitors must wear modest clothing appropriate for a correctional environment.
- Appropriate undergarments must be worn at all times and must not be visible.
- Shirts must fully cover the shoulders, cleavage, and midriff.
- Footwear must be worn at all times. Bare feet are not permitted.
2. Prohibited Attire
- Provocative, revealing, see-through, or excessively tight-fitting clothing.
- Shorts, dresses, or skirts that are more than 2 inches above the knee when standing.
- Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, or any sleeveless shirts.
- Spandex, leggings, or yoga pants when worn as the outermost garment. These items are permitted only when worn underneath a skirt, dress, or pants that meet length requirements.
- Clothing displaying obscene language, images, or symbols; gang-related insignia; or content that is offensive, derogatory, or disruptive.
- Head coverings of any type, including hats, caps, bandanas, scarves, or hoods. (Religious head coverings are permitted but are subject to search.)
3. Enforcement
- Facility staff have the sole discretion to determine whether clothing complies with this policy.
- Visitors arriving in violation of the dress code will be given the opportunity to correct the issue if possible (e.g., changing clothes, covering up). If the issue cannot be corrected, the visitor will be denied entry.
Items Allowed in the Visiting Room
- Vehicle keys, jacket/sweaters, and umbrellas must be left in the front lobby lockers.
- Thirty-dollar limit ($30 in $1 bills and/or silver change)
- Clear container for money (plastic baggie or coin purse)
- Visitors may wear one (1) watch, one (1) rind, one (1) necklace and one (1) pair of earrings. Absolutely no bracelets.
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED IN THE VISITING ROOM SHALL BE RETURNED TO THE VISITOR'S VEHICLE. ITEMS LEFT IN FRONT RECEPTION WILL BE DISPOSED OF BY STAFF.
ANY VISIT MAY BE TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY AT THE DISCRETION OF THE VISITING AREA SUPERVISOR IF HE/SHE DETEMINES AN INCIDENT TO BE OF A SERIOUS NATURE. ANY VIOLATION OF THE ABOVE LISTED RULES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF THE VISIT AND/OR DISCIPLINARY ACTION.
Video Visits
The video visit will occur Monday thru Friday from 6:30pm - 8:30pm and will be 25 minutes in duration. Visitors will initiate the request to visit. They may schedule up to 30 days in advance and no later than 48 hours prior to the requested visitation date. Initially, each General Population inmate will be allowed 3 video visits per month. This is in addition to the 3 in-person visits allowed per month.
Visitors must have the correct spelling and accurate information (as submitted for in-person visits - as it is in KOMS) to be approved on the Securus site to schedule video visits.
