District Supervisor - Lindsey T. Smith
Smith began his career with the DOC as a correctional officer at Roederer Correctional Complex in January 2007. In 2008, Smith promoted to a probation and parole officer I, managing a regular felony caseload in Louisville's District 16. Smith held that position until 2012 when he returned to RCC as a lieutenant. In this role he served as the security threat group coordinator and worked in internal affairs. He also gained experience as a classification and treatment officer while working at the facility. Smith trained as a PREA investigator and was an active member of the Corrections Emergency Response Team.
In 2014, Smith returned to Probation and Parole as a probation and parole officer in District 12's LaGrange office. His duties included serving as a field training officer (FTO), fentanyl collector, and as a member of the state audit team. In 2021, he was promoted to an assistant supervisor in District 12, overseeing the Carrollton office. He served as an FTO, district safety officer, PREA investigator, and a member of the Corrections Policies and Procedures committee.
In 2023 Smith was assigned as a Justice Program Administrator overseeing Internal Affairs and PREA investigations for the Division of Probation and Parole.
A graduate of the University of Louisville, Smith earned a bachelor's degree in justice administration in 2006. He is the recipient of the 2016 DOC Achievement Award for District 12.
