The Division of Local Facilities works with county jailers and other local officials regarding the operation of county and regional jails. As the regulatory agency, Local Facilities' staff conduct biannual jail inspections to ensure compliance with Kentucky Jail Standards. Staff also provide technical assistance in jail operations, policy and procedures and staff training, in addition to approving all architectural drawings and monitoring the construction process for jail renovation and new construction projects.
