Wellness Benefits

​The Kentucky Employee's Health Plan (KEHP) is a self-funded plan that offers health insurance and flexible spending accounts to nearly 265,000 members. Public employees, for public employees, run KEHP so members have a direct stake in the financial well-being of the Plan. Plan options can be viewed h​ere.

Team Kentucky provides comprehensive protection for you and your family. State employees are automatically eligible for basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance of $20,000 free of charge. Additional life insurance coverage is available. You may view these voluntary options her​e.

Optional Insurance

The Commonwealth of Kentucky sponsors stat health and life insurance plans. Other types of insurance policies (such as dental, vision, short and long term disability, etc.) are available through a group of companies who have been pre-approved to deduct premiums through payroll deduction. However, they are NOT state sponsored groups or plans and are completely optional/voluntary for employee enrollment. For a list of approved participants, click he​​re.

Workers' Compensation Insurance

The Kentucky Workers Compensation Program (excludes Transportation Cabinet employees) provides medical and disability benefits to employees who may experience a work-related injury or illness. A managed care program is used to provide covered medical benefits.

This service lets you talk face-to-face with a doctor through your mobile device or a computer with a webcam. LiveHealth Online Psychology

An easy, convenient way to see a therapist or psychologist in just a few days.

If you're felling stressed, worried, or having a tough time, you can talk to a licensed psychologist or therapist through video using Live​Health Online Psychology. It's easy to use, private, and, in most cases, you can see a therapist within four days or less. The cost is $0 for KEHP members.

Protect Your Family From Flu Season

It's easier than ever! Kentucky Employees' Health Plan members can receive a free flu shot.

Vaccines are available at participating provider locations including some doctors' offices, health clinics, retail pharmacies, local health departments, and other participating providers.

If you or someone in your family is trying to lose wright, we are here to help. You may be eligible for a powerful and effective weight control program, available at no charge for member of the Kentucky Employees' Health Plan (KEHP)

Why Weight Kentucky Program

The Why Weight Kentucky Program is available for adults and children with conditions stemming from weight. This program is part of the KEHP's nurse support clinical services. Why Weight Kentucky is a weight management program that pairs members with a Personal Health Consultant who will help them reach their weight loss goals. Members who participate in the program get access to the tools and one-on-one support they need to lose weight safely and improve their health and quality of life. The program also provides coverage for several prescription weight loss medicines.

Nutrition Resources

KEHP member, waiver and state employees alike, learn how you can improve your daily consumption of recommended nutrients from the USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. Dietary guidelines and nutrition information is available to help you choose a healthy, nutritionally adequate diet.

Quitting Tobacco

The Kentucky Employees' Health Plan offers eligible plan holders and covered dependents age 18 and over who are participating in an approved smoking or tobacco cessation program (like Freedom From Smoking or the QuitNow Kentucky Program), over-the-counter Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) at no cost.

Anthem's Quit Better Together

Through support from Anthem Foundation, the American Lung Association is working with local partners in Kentucky to offer free and low cost quit smoking support.

Quit Now Kentucky Tobacco Cessation

This phone-based service provides one-on-one help from a trained tobacco cessation counselor.

Get Nicotine Replacement Therapies at NO COST!

You can get over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapies at no cost if you meet all of the Kentucky Employees' Health Plan (KEHP).

Vitals SmartShopper

A free service that rewards you with a cash incentive and helps lower your out-of-pocket costs when you use cost-effective options for certain medical procedures. You can shop your service and receive information on high quality, cost-effective service providers in you area. You will receive a reward check in the mail within 45-60 days of your claim being paid.

Since KEHP is "self-funded" (which means you and other KEHP members, not an insurance company, help pay the total medical and pharmacy claims costs), when you choose Vitals, you not only lower your healthcare costs, but also lower the cost to KEHP. In addition, those savings are shared with us through this financial incentive!

Go365 - Track Your Physical Activity & Earn Rewards

As part of the Go365 program, you can earn points when you track your physical activity. Find the right fitness-tracking device to fit your lifestyle and start earning.

A health club network may also offer discounted memberships to Go365 participants and provide tracking of member workouts onsite.

 
Inject Up to 200 Points with a Free Flu Shot

Don't forget, you'll receive 200 points for every KEHP member, 18 years of age and older, who gets a flu shot. Members younger than 18 who receive a flu shot will earn 100 points.

Diabetes Benefits

Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) - Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) is a proven way, if you have diabetes, to learn the many things you need to know to help manage your condition. If you are diabetic, DSME classes are covered under you health insurance plan, subject to any applicable deductible, co-pay, and co-insurance.

Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) - If you meet the criteria of pre-diabetes, you may attend DPP classes. These classes help lower your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. You may participate in an approved DPP for free, and you can learn how to improve your health through stress reduction, weight loss, and increased physical activity with the support of a certified lifestyle instructor. This proven and successful 16-week course meets once per week for on hour. After 16 lessons, you will receive at least six monthly follow-up sessions to help you stay motivated and maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you enroll in and attend DPP classes, you will receive 350 points through Go365. Let your lifestyle coach know you are a participating Go365 member and they will take care of the process. Preventive Therapy Drug Benefits

If you are on a maintenance medication that is prescribed to treat a long-term chronic condition like high blood pressure, you can get a 90-day supply of your maintenance drugs at one time, which is a cost savings to you!
