​District Supervisor - Tara Higgins

Higgins began her state employment career with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services in March 2000. She transferred to the Division of Probation and Parole in November 2004. Higgins established herself early in her career as a dedicated employee who volunteered for many assignments.

As an officer, Higgins supervised a number of caseloads including sex offender supervision and the Women's Kentucky Recovery Center in northern Kentucky. She was selected to be a statewide trainer for Motivational Interviewing within the agency and also served as an accreditation compliance team leader. She was promoted to assistant district supervisor in July 2011.

Higgins is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she earned a degree in social work. She is a graduate of the 2013 Commissioner's Executive Leadership Program. She was also named the District 7 Outstanding Employee of the Year in 2007.
