The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet and the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) in consultation with the Department for Public Health, have taken proactive measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. DOC is prepared to handle potential cases of COVID-19 within state-operated correctional institutions in Kentucky.
DOC is working diligently daily to minimize health risks and is committed to following the proposed guidance from the
CDC for Correctional and Detention Facilities.

*An individual passed away on 7-12-20 at the Kentucky State Reformatory. He had tested positive for COVID-19 the previous day. An exact cause of death is pending an autopsy.
*An individual passed away on 7-31-20 atht eh Kentucky State Reformatory. He had tested positive for COVID-19. An exact cause of death is pending an autopsy.
*An individual passed away at Green River Correctional Complex on Sunday, May 3. He tested positive for COVID-19 on April 28, but an autopsy has been performed and the exact cause of death is pending.
**555 inmates have recovered and 85 staff have recovered.
