Lee Adjustment Center

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 About LAC

Faced with aging facilities and growing inmate population, the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) signed an agreement with CoreCivic in November, 2017, that will help meet those long-standing challenges while providing the highest level of inmate safety, public oversight an accountability.

The agreement will allow DOC to transfer approximately 800 inmates to the Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville, Kentucky. This will help relieve pressures on Kentucky State Reformatory, an 80-year-old prison in Oldham County that requires costly upkeep to meet modern standards.
