To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 Deputy Warden Michael Robinson

Robinson began his career with the Department of Corrections in 2000 as a correctional officer at GRCC. In 2002, he was promoted to sergeant and was assigned as Security Threat Group (STG) coordinator and assistant internal affairs officer. In 2005, Robinson was again promoted to lieutenant and became the institutional fire/safety officer, internal affairs officer, and minimum security unit supervisor. During this time, he became the institutional operations lieutenant and was assigned as the restricted housing unit supervisor. In 2012, Robinson was promoted to Unit Administrator I and was assigned to the institutional intake and orientation dorm. He was responsible for the restricted housing unit and its operational functions.

In 2015, Robinson was promoted to Unit Administrator II and was responsible for three general population dorms and the outside minimum security unit. A former Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, Robinson currently is the institutional Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) coordinator, CPR and First Aid Instructor, Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) investigator and unit investigator.

Robinson has received numerous correctional awards including the Commissioner's Achievement Award in 2009.
