Blackburn Correctional Complex

Mission:

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 Driving Directions

Directions from I-64  

  • Exit 115 Newton Pike (922) – South toward Lexington
  • Approx. 1 mile just beyond (Griffen Gate Plaza on left) turn right on Citation Blvd.
  • West to Georgetown Rd. (25)
  • Right on (25), approx. ½ mile
  • Left at Spurr Rd. (1977)
  • School on left (curvy road)
  • Approx. 1 ½ mile (over RR tracks)
  • Blue sign on right – (Department of Corrections, Blackburn Corrections)
     

Directions from New Circle Road  

  • New Circle Road to Leestown Rd (421)
  • Turn left, under New Circle Rd. (4) west towards Frankfort
  • Approx. ½ mile to stop lights (Coca Cola plant on right)
  • Right on Greendale (1978). (will become a curvy road)
  • Two miles to Spurr Rd (1977)
  • Left on Spurr Rd, 1 mile, (over RR tracks)
  • Blue sign on right – DOC BCC
