EKCC

Warden James David Green

​Green began his career in 1989 as a correctional officer at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) in West Liberty. He was a member of the original group of officers hired when EKCC opened. He was promoted through the security ranks at EKCC and held​ the positions of sergeant, lieutenant, operations lieutenant, and shift captain. While at EKCC, Green also served as the Hostage Negotiations Team (HNT) leader.

In 2005, Green was promoted to Unit Administrator II at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex (LSCC), where he again served as the HNT leader. In 2010, he was promoted to Senior Captain at LSCC and promoted later that same year to Deputy Warden at LSCC.

In 2015, Green was promoted to Warden at the Bell County Forestry Camp in Pineville, KY. In 2017, Warden Green transferred from the Bell County Forestry Camp to become Warden at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in Sandy Hook, KY.

During his 26-year career, Green has been recognized with numerous awards, including the DOC Achievement Award, and multiple supervisor of the Quarter awards, and Warden of the Year.​
