Hayden Promoted to Branch Manager over HIP/Re-Entry

     Frankfort, Ky. (October 6, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Kimberly Potter-Blair today announced that Wendy Hayden has been promoted to a  Branch Manager in Central Office. Hayden will oversee the Department’s Home Incarceration Program (HIP) and Re-Entry efforts.
     A five-year employee of Corrections, Hayden is the former program administrator in the Contract Management Branch where she oversaw the contracted beds utilized by the DOC including private prisons and halfway houses. She began her career with DOC working in the community sex offender treatment program.
     “Wendy Hayden is a rising star in the Department,” said Deputy Commissioner Kimberly Potter-Blair. “She has a tough task ahead of her, but I am confident that she will use her excellent leadership skills to take charge of this very important program.”
    A native of Shelby County, Hayden is a graduate of the University of Louisville where she received a Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology. Before coming to the Department of Corrections, she worked as an intake counselor with Seven Counties Services in Louisville. She still assists Seven Counties on a part-time basis in this capacity.
     She and her husband Kris Hayden are residents of Simpsonville.
