Frankfort, Ky. (June 3, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced the promotion of Martin “Dino” Granado to Deputy Warden of Luther Luckett Correctional Complex (LLCC) in LaGrange.
     “Dino Granado is a dedicated Corrections professional who has an excellent work ethic. He is one of our young professionals who truly has a bright career in front of him,” said Parke. “He has the level of experience and leadership skills that Luther Luckett requires in a deputy warden.”
     Granado began his career in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women (KCIW). In 1996 he was promoted to Sergeant and in 1999 was promoted again, this time to the rank of Lieutenant. He worked in various positions at KCIW such as adjustment chairman, firearms instructor, CPR/First Aide instructor, and Operations Lieutenant. In 2003 Granado was promoted to Unit Administrator I at KCIW where he served as the institutional coordinator for the “Paws With a Purpose” dog training program.
     In 2005, he transferred to Roederer Correctional Complex (RCC) to the prison’s substance abuse program called “Bridges: A Therapeutic Community.” The program is the first of its kind in Kentucky to combine parolees with inmates who are getting ready to be released from prison. While at RCC, he served as the acting Unit Director in Unit III where he managed the Pre-Release, Grievance, and Legal Aide services offered to inmates, supervised the Academic Department and was also the Transfer Coordinator for the Institution. Granado’s last stint at RCC, before being promoted to Deputy Warden, was unit director for the Substance Abuse Program, and Institutional KOMS (Kentucky Offender Management System) trainer.
     In 2007 Granado was honored with that year’s “Achievement Award” for RCC during the KCCD conference. He is a veteran of the United States Army.
     He and his wife Mary Beth Granado have 2 children, Antonio, 8 and Selena, 5.
