Western KY Correctional Complex

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 Western Kentucky Correctional Complex

To provide a medium security institution to citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky which will serve to incarcerate and rehabilitate convicted offenders within the organizational framework of the Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Institutions.  The institution will provide housing that is safe, secure, and humane for male offenders while insuring that inmates are housed according to proper classification and assessment.  The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex will extend a firm and reasonable environment which stresses the philosophy that the adults assigned here must accept responsibility for their conduct, individual attitudes, and actions while incarcerated inside a security enhanced area.  The mission includes delivering evidence based programing, religious opportunities, education, and other re-entry endeavors to measurably reduce the probability of inmate re-incarceration.
