Western KY Correctional Complex

Mission:

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 General Inmate Information 

Mail

All incoming mail shall be sent via the U.S. Postal Service and addressed in the following manner:

All incoming mail is opened and inspected for contraband. Stamps are not accepted through the mail.

Inmate Money

U.S. Postal Service money orders and Western Union Quick Collect are the only form of money permitted to be sent to an inmate. Cash or personal checks are not accepted. Any one deposit cannot exceed $200, unless from IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS.

Money orders that are accompanied by a letter or any other item will be returned to the sender. Inmates are allowed to receive up to five (5) money orders per month. The inmate's name and number and the the sender's name and address must be written directly on the money order and should be addressed in the following manner:

To send money via the Western Union Quick Collect system, a blue Quick Collect Form (available through Western Union Agents) must be filled out. Money sent in this manner must:

  • be made payable to the Western Kentucky Corrections Complex
  • include City Code and State "WKCC, KY"
  • include both the inmate's name and institutional ID number on the form under "Account Number"

If it is necessary to phone the Complex in an emergency, the telephone number is (270) 388-9781. The Shift Captain on duty should be notified of emergencies. Inmates are not allowed to receive telephone calls.
