Woodward began his career at WKCC in September 1990 as a Correctional Officer. During his years at WKCC he served in various supervisory positions starting with his promotion to Sergeant in 1997. Then in 2001 Woodward was promoted to Lieutenant where he served as the Internal Affairs Officers.
In 2002 he was promoted to Training Coordinator I at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex. Woodward assumed the position of Unit Administrator II when he was promoted in 2003. As Unit Administrator, he played a vital role in opening Western’s first Special Management Unit in January 2004. In September 2007 he was special detailed as acting Branch Manager of the Western Regional Training Center, through March 2008. For 15 years of his career Woodward was involved in WKCC’s C.E.R.T. (Corrections Emergency Response Team) and served as Commander of the team for three of those years. He has received numerous awards during his service with the department.
Woodward is a graduate of Mid-Continent University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He enjoys spending time with his family and tinkering with old British cars.
