Inmate Mail
Constructive correspondence is encouraged between all inmates and their families, friends and associates.
Inmates may receive personal mail from any outside source provided it doesn’t constitute a threat. All incoming mail shall have the proper name, number, housing assignment, and complete address. All incoming mail, except Privileged Mail, shall be opened and inspected or read to determine if contraband is enclosed or any violation of prison rules has occurred.
Inmates shall purchase postage stamps through the Inmate Canteen.

Money Orders
Money to be entered on an inmate's account shall be received through the mail in the form of a postal money order only. No cash, personal checks, letters or other material may be in the envelope with the money order.
Money orders received incorrectly shall be returned to the sender. The correct address for receipt of a postal money order is:

Western Union
Please note this is the Quick Collect ONLY. Individuals using this system should note they need to fill out the BLUE QUICK COLLECT FORM. The funds will be electronically sent to the Inmate Account Bank. Western Union money orders will not be accepted. Only U.S. Postal money orders will be accepted through the mail.
The same rules for postal money orders such as only 5 transactions in one month and $200.00 limit except immediate family members still apply. Transactions which do not follow these guidelines will be rejected.

Remember to keep your receipt for tracking purposes.
Emergencies
If it is necessary to phone the Institution in an emergency, the telephone number is (859) 239-7012. Either the Chaplain or the Captain on duty should be notified of emergencies. The only way an inmate may speak with you over the phone is when he calls you. No inmate may receive a telephone call from outside the institution. All inmate calls shall be collect and you are responsible for the charges.
