
Daniel Akers was promoted to Warden at Marion Adjustment Center in March 2010. Warden Akers began his career as a Correctional Officer at Otter Creek Correctional Center on April 17, 1994. During that time, he moved through the ranks as a Correctional Sergeant, Lieutenant, Accreditation Manager and Unit Manger.
In October of 2004, Akers was promoted to Chief of Security at Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville, Kentucky and then moved to Marion Adjustment Center in January 2007 as the Assistant Warden.
Akers is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a certificate in Criminal Justice and juvenile studies. During his career, he has been the Employee of the Year at Otter Creek Correctional Center in 1997 and 1998, a member of the Leadership Lebanon – Marion County program in 2008, and currently in the FOP of Nelson County.
