Little Sandy Correctional Complex

Mission:

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 Deputy Warden Paul Holbrook 

Picture of Deputy Warden HolbrookPaul Holbrook began his correctional career as a Correctional Officer in June, 1990, shortly after the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex opened.  In August, 1991 he was promoted to Classification and Treatment Officer.

In April, 1996 Mr. Holbrook was promoted to Unit Administrator I.  After serving in that capacity for one year, he was assigned as the Institution Litigation Officer.  In June, 1999 he was promoted to Unit Administrator II.  In November, 2002 Mr. Holbrook was promoted to Program Administrator within the Classification Branch in Central Office.  During his tenure, he served on the state design team for the new Little Sandy Correctional Complex. 

In March, 2005 he was promoted to Deputy Warden at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex.  He served in this capacity until he transferred to the Little Sandy Correctional Complex in the same capacity in May, 2007. 

Mr. Holbrook is a member of the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency, a member of the North American Association of Wardens and Superintendents, and a member of the American Correction Association.  He is a 1978 graduate of Morehead State University where he earned his degree in Finance and Accounting.  He is a retired Colonel from the U. S. Army Reserves with 29 years of service and a veteran of the 1990 Gulf War.
