Green began his career in 1989 as a Correctional Officer at the EKCC in West Liberty. He was a member of the original group of officers hired when EKCC first opened. He was promoted through the security ranks at EKCC and held the positions of Correctional Sergeant, Lieutenant, Operations Lieutenant and Shift Captain. While at EKCC, Green also served as the Hostage Negotiations Team Leader. In 2005, Green was promoted to Unit Administrator II at the Little Sandy Correctional Complex (LSCC), where he again served as the Hostage Negotiations Team Leader. In 2010, he was promoted to Senior Captain at LSCC. During his 21-year career Green has received many awards including the DOC Achievement Award and multiple supervisor of the quarter awards.
