Green River Correctional Complex

Mission:

To protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

 General Inmate Information 

Mail 

All incoming mail shall be sent via the US Postal Service and addressed with the inmate’s name, his institutional number, P. O. Box 9300, Green River Correctional Complex, Central City, Kentucky 42330. All incoming mail is opened and inspected for contraband. Stamps are not accepted through the mail.

 

Inmate Money 

Money for an inmate’s account shall be in the form of a United States Postal Money Order only. Cash or personal checks shall not be accepted. Postal Money Orders shall be sent via US Postal Service in c/o Inmate Accounts and contain no other item. Money Orders will be returned to the sender if sent with a letter or any other item. Inmates are allowed to receive up to five (5) money orders per month.

In addition, payment will be accepted via the Western Union Quick Collect System.   The person sending money will need to fill out a Blue Quick Collect Form available through Western Union Agents.  The information the sender will need to send money in this manner is:

Made payable to the Green River Correctional Complex. Code City and State are GreenRiver KY.
Where the form asks for Account Number, both inmate name and institutional ID number are required.

Deposits shall not exceed $200 for any one deposit, except from IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS

 

Emergencies 

If it is necessary to phone the Complex in an emergency, the telephone number is (270) 754-5415. The Shift Captain on duty should be notified of emergencies. Inmates are not allowed to receive telephone calls.
