LaDonna H. Thompson, Commissioner                 Department of Corrections

Hello, all! I just want to ensure that all of our DOC Veterans and Active forces know that we are thinking of you and we appreciate your sacrifice. Although tomorrow is Veterans' Day, a day set aside to honor all veterans, we realize that many of you will be working, as will many of your fellow DOC employees. We hope you will enjoy this blog site and the opportunity to stay connected with us. We are truly grateful for your service to the Department of Corrections, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the United States of America. We wish you all the best as we enter the upcoming holiday season and pray for your safe return.
Warden Randy White, Green River Correctional Complex

I would like to extend sincere appreciation, on behalf of GRCC, to all of our deployed veterans so far from home and family on this Veteran's Day.  Our own Lt. Jeffery Hope is currently deployed to Iraq and we pray for his safe return as well as the safe return of all of our employees who become as extended family.  We salute you.
Amanda J. Baker,    District 16           Probation and Parole

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the individuals who have sacrificed or are sacrificing their lives for my family and me. Actually, just saying “thank you” is not enough. You don’t know how very important you all are, and you don’t know how appreciative I am. I send a prayer every night to please keep you guys out of harm’s way, and to please bring you guys home soon and safe. We are all very proud of you and are excited for you to come home. God bless!
Martina Shirley,       Roederer Correctional Complex

Thank you all for your dedication and service to all of us back at home.  God Bless you and your families.

Thank you to each of you who serve or have served in the US Military from the granddaughter, daughter and mother of US Veterans.  As a member of the Blue Star Mothers of America Western Kentucky Chapter 7, I honor you not only on Veteran's Day but as often as possible.  If you or someone you know is deployed overseas you may wish to contact us WKYBSMA CH 7 about care packages.
Officer Moore,      Roederer Correctional Complex

Thank you all soooooo much for putting your lives on the line.
Officer Ski,           Roederer Correctional Complex

Whenever you may be defending our country thank you and may God bless you and your families always. Hey, you are thought of and we will be happy when you return to the States.  Blessings and protection; may they shine all around you.
Deputy Warden Vanessa Kennedy, Western KY Correctional Complex

I want to express my appreciation for the work you all continue to do on a daily basis. Without your hardwork and dedication we would not continue to have a safe country to live in. The sacrifices you are making along with many others that have had to make the sacrifice for us to live in the freedom we do today does not go unnoticed. The Department of Corrections family will continue to show support for each and everyone of you, while you are taking the time out to defend our nation. Thank you again for what you do for me and my family.
Warden Joseph P. Meko, Little Sandy Correctional Complex

From all the staff at Little Sandy Correctional Complex we would like to thank all the deployed veterans for your service. Our admiration and affection for all of you is without limit, and we think about you and your families and pray for your safe return every day. "May God hold you forever in the palm of his hand"
Kim Potter-Blair Deputy Commissioner, Support Services

Hello to all and Happy New Year! I am thinking about you and your families. Thank you for your continued sacrifice and dedication. May GOD bless you and your family.
Stephanie R. Appel,  HR Director Justice and Public Safety Cabinet

My sincere appreciation to each of you who have sacrificed your lives for our freedom.  Words can never express the gratitude and “thank you” for everything you do each day.  We pray for those deployed for a safe return home soon.  God bless each and every one of you.
Gina Rose, Department of Corrections

I want to take this time to remember all the folks who are serving our country especially during the holidays. Hopefully, all of you will be home and with your families before this time next year. Take care and know that our thoughts and prayers are always with you. Thank you for working to make peace in the world for all of us. Have a blessed Holiday season.
