Job Fair 2007

We, at the Department of Corrections, believe our employees are our greatest asset.  We are actively involved in the recruitment and promotion of minorities and are committed to building a more diversified work force that will best represent all people, regardless of race or gender. Over the past 24 months the Department has worked diligently to promote job fairs throughout the state with emphasis on minority hiring.  As a result of this endeavor, over 1200 new employees were hired in 2005.  For 2005, the Department achieved a record 11% African-American female workforce and total minority hiring was 16.6%.
